Peqer – QR Menu & Ordering Platform
Full-stack build of the Peqer QR menu ordering platform, launched during COVID. Three connected applications: an admin dashboard, a consumer mobile app, and the backend behind both.
About the client
Peqer was built so restaurants and shops could keep trading under COVID restrictions. Scan a QR code, see the menu, order, without touching anything or anyone.
Project Overview
Peqer came out of a specific moment. Restaurants could not hand out menus, and most of them had no digital version worth showing. Scan a code, get the menu on your own phone, order from it.It is three applications, not one. The admin dashboard is where owners manage products, pricing, categories, availability and incoming orders, along with customers, roles and business settings. That is the piece that decides whether a restaurant is still using the platform after week one.The consumer app is hybrid mobile, and its only real requirement is speed. Someone is standing at a table holding a phone. If the menu takes four seconds to load, they ask for a paper one.The backend holds authentication, product data, orders, payments and the business rules. It is the only place the other two agree on what is true.
The Challenge
Three applications sharing business logic and data models means three chances to disagree. Products, prices, orders and payments all had to stay in sync across the dashboard, the app and the services underneath.Then restaurants and retail turned out to want different things. A restaurant order and a shop order look similar and behave differently, so analytics, order tracking, payments and role-based access all had to bend per business type without forking the platform.
My Contribution
I worked across all three applications.I built the admin dashboard with Vuetify and Bootstrap: the management screens for products, customers, orders, roles and analytics. The mobile app was Ionic, and I worked on the consumer flows, QR scanning, browsing and ordering, where the whole game is how fast it opens.On the backend, Laravel: authentication, role management, order processing, payments, and the API both clients consume. Real restaurants ran real orders through it during the period they most needed it to work.
