efimereuonta-nosokomeia.gr: Hospitals on duty in Greece
efimereuonta-nosokomeia.gr is a free, independent web app I built and run myself. It shows all 216 verified hospitals in Greece, public ΕΣΥ, military and private, on a map and in a list sorted by distance, along with which ones are on duty and for which specialty.
About the client
OFFLINE is my studio. efimereuonta-nosokomeia.gr is our own product, like atm.gr: free tools for things people in Greece look for when they need them urgently.
Project Overview
Duty information exists, but it is scattered: daily Ministry of Health PDFs for Attica, monthly XLS files from the 4th Health Region, the 7th Health Region board for Crete, and hospital pages on the islands and in the regions. The app reads all of them every 30 minutes and shows them the same way, by specialty and time, with the source and check time next to every schedule. Where there is no official information, it says “unknown” instead of guessing. Standing rules come from the hospitals’ own pages, and the assumption for an island’s only hospital carries its own clear label.
The Challenge
Every hospital and every area has its own prerendered page, e.g. "Hospitals on duty in Athens today", with a per-specialty summary and which ones are on duty at a given hour. 166 and 112 are always visible at the top. The app never stores doctor names, and the user's location never leaves their device. It launched publicly in October 2026.
My Contribution
Everything: the idea, source research, design, frontend, backend, the adapters for each official source, the database, deployment and day-to-day running.
