Who I am

I’m Stelios Kitziris, a software engineer based in Athens, Greece, and I operate this website under the name OFFLINE (offline-web.com). I’m the data controller for any personal data collected through this website. You can reach me at info@offline-web.com.

What data I collect and why

Contact form and estimate

When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email address, the service you are interested in, your message and, on the English form, your company name. I use this data to answer you and to prepare the estimate you ask for.

The form also records how you reached the site: the campaign parameters in the page address (for example utm_source or utm_campaign), the page you landed on and the website that sent you, if any. If you have accepted statistics cookies, these details are kept in your browser for the rest of your visit so the form can include them; otherwise only the details of the current page are used. I use them to see which ads and channels bring enquiries.

After you send the form, an automation (n8n, hosted by Hostinger) stores your request in a Google Sheet and emails you a link to a short questionnaire about your project. Your answers are stored with your request. To turn the answers into a structured list of features, the automation sends the project description and answers to Google’s Gemini model (Google LLC). The estimate is then calculated from my own price list, generated as a PDF on my own server and emailed to you. Emails are sent through my Hostinger email account.

The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and my legitimate interest in answering messages you choose to send me (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Chat assistant

The chat window on this site is an automated assistant, not a person. When you send a message, I process the text you type, a random session identifier and the page you are on, to generate a reply. Replies are generated by Google’s Gemini model (Google LLC), and the conversation runs through an automation (n8n) hosted by Hostinger. I keep a log of the messages and replies in Google Sheets so I can see what visitors ask and correct wrong answers. The chat does not ask for your name or email; please don’t enter sensitive personal data in it. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering questions you choose to ask (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

If you subscribe to my newsletter, I collect your email address. I use it to send you occasional emails about web application development and my work. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email. Newsletter delivery is handled by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., USA). Analytics

If you accept statistics cookies, I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site: pages visited, approximate location, device type, and actions such as starting the form, clicking an estimate button or opening the chat. IP addresses are not stored by GA4. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). See Google’s privacy policy.

Advertising measurement

I advertise this site in ChatGPT. If you accept marketing cookies, a measurement tag from OpenAI (OpenAI OpCo, LLC, USA) records whether a visit that came from an ad led to a sent contact form. It does not receive the content of the form. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). See OpenAI’s privacy policy.

Spam protection

The contact forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects technical data (IP address, browser information, interaction patterns) to distinguish humans from bots. It loads only on pages with a contact form, and on some pages only once you start filling in the form. This is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.

Cookies

When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Technical cookies needed for the site to work, for caching (LiteSpeed) and for remembering your choice are always used. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics) and marketing cookies (the OpenAI advertising tag) are used only if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time with the “Manage consent” button that appears at the bottom of the page after your first choice.

Who has access to your data

I don’t sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone for marketing purposes. Data is processed by the following service providers acting on my behalf: Hostinger (web hosting, email and the n8n automation, EU servers), Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Google Sheets where enquiries and chat messages are stored, and the Gemini model used for the estimate and the chat), OpenAI (advertising measurement, only if you accept marketing cookies) and Mailchimp (newsletter, only if you subscribe). Where data is transferred outside the EU (Google, OpenAI, Mailchimp), the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep your data

Enquiries, questionnaire answers and estimates are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up. If we don’t start working together, they are deleted no later than 24 months after our last exchange; if we do, they are kept for the duration of the project and as required by tax law. Chat messages and replies are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email me at info@offline-web.com. I’ll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).

Changes to this policy

If I change how this site handles personal data, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
