About the client

Ioannidis Team runs structured training on a subscription model. Members, memberships and recurring payments are the business, so the admin around them is not a side concern.

Project Overview

The system had to bring student data, subscription status and attendance into one place, so administrators could see the state of things without assembling it from memory.Subscriptions drive most of it. Students register, manage their membership and pay through integrated payment flows. Recurring billing is one of those features that sounds routine and then produces edge cases forever: renewals, failed payments, someone who paused for two months and came back.Attendance and check-in cover the on-site half, so participation records stay accurate rather than being written down and typed up later. Automated email handles notifications, confirmations and the operational messages that otherwise get sent by hand.The architecture keeps a clear line between frontend and backend responsibilities, which is what lets either side change without dragging the other along.

The Challenge

The challenge was making subscriptions, payments and attendance behave as one workflow instead of three features sharing a database. They have to agree, and they have to keep agreeing as the organisation changes how it operates.Transactional data raises the stakes. Payments and subscriptions are the kind of records where a bug is not a bug, it is a phone call from a member who was charged twice.

My Contribution

Full-stack, designing and implementing both ends.I built the frontend around administrative workflows. Admin interfaces get judged on how few clicks a routine task takes, not on how they look in a screenshot.The Node.js backend covers student management, subscriptions, payments and email automation, along with the data models and business logic. Payment and user data meant security and reliability were the constraints everything else fitted around.I worked directly with the client on turning how they actually operate into something a system can enforce.
