Baby Sisters – Babysitting booking platform
Full-stack development and modernization of Baby Sisters, a platform that connects families with babysitters in Portugal. The system supports bookings, availability, payments and notifications.
About the client
Baby Sisters is a babysitting platform in Portugal, designed for families looking for babysitters and professionals managing their availability and work opportunities.
Project Overview
The application works as a two-sided marketplace. Families search for babysitters and create bookings, while babysitters manage availability and requests. The project also included upgrading the existing codebase to newer framework versions without losing working business logic.
The Challenge
The complexity came from keeping availability, bookings, payments and notifications in sync across two different user groups. The modernization had to happen without interrupting the marketplace's core workflows.
My Contribution
I worked full-stack on booking, user, payment and background workflows, while also helping with the gradual codebase upgrade and maintainability improvements.
Technology Stack
- React, Laravel, booking workflows, payments, notifications, marketplace architecture.
