The Box App IKE – Social Video Challenge Platform
Full-stack development of The Box App, a social video platform centered around user-generated content and challenge-based interactions. The system enabled users to upload videos, participate in challenges and competitions, and engage with other users through a mobile-first experience supported by a multi-application architecture.

About the client

The Box App IKE was a digital product company focused on building interactive social experiences through video content. The platform aimed to encourage creativity and engagement by allowing users to create and participate in video-based challenges and competitions.

Project Overview

The Box App was designed as a social platform inspired by short-form video applications, where users could upload videos and initiate challenges that invited other users to participate. The core concept revolved around user-generated content, competition mechanics and viral-style engagement. The platform consisted of three main components. The first was a web-based administrative dashboard used by platform administrators to manage users, content, challenges and competitions. This dashboard also provided analytics and moderation tools to monitor activity and engagement across the platform. The second component was a hybrid mobile application designed for end users. Through the mobile app, users could browse challenges, upload videos, respond to existing challenges and participate in competitions. The mobile experience was optimized for fast interaction and content creation, similar to modern social video platforms. The third component was the backend system, responsible for handling authentication, video metadata, user interactions, challenge logic and competition workflows. Together, these components formed a complete social ecosystem capable of supporting high user engagement and continuous content creation.

The Challenge

One of the main challenges of the project was coordinating video content workflows across multiple applications while maintaining performance and usability. Uploading, managing and displaying user-generated video content required careful handling of UI states, permissions and moderation flows. Additional complexity came from implementing challenge and competition mechanics, including user participation tracking, engagement rules and administrative oversight. The system needed to remain flexible enough to support evolving social features and new interaction patterns.

My Contribution

I worked as a full-stack developer across all parts of The Box App platform. I developed the administrative dashboard using Vue.js with Vuetify and Bootstrap, implementing interfaces for user management, content moderation, challenge configuration and analytics. I contributed to the hybrid mobile application built with Ionic, focusing on user-facing flows such as video browsing, uploads and challenge participation. Emphasis was placed on usability and responsiveness to support frequent user interaction. On the backend, I implemented core functionality using Laravel, including user management, challenge logic, competition workflows and API endpoints consumed by both the admin dashboard and the mobile application. The result was a scalable, multi-application platform supporting social video engagement.
