HelpingBrands UG – Private Investment Community Platform
The HelpingBrands investment community platform is a private invitation-only network where clients connect around investment opportunities. I built it from zero with a PWA layer on a short timeline.
About the client
HelpingBrands UG is a technology and consulting company working with clients on growth and investment. They needed a closed platform where that networking could happen under their own control.
Project Overview
This is a LinkedIn-shaped product with the door locked. Members connect, share information and look at investment opportunities, and everyone in there was invited.Closed changes the engineering. Access control is not a feature bolted on at the end, it is the assumption every query and every route starts from, and data isolation has to hold even when someone constructs a URL by hand.Performance was the other priority from day one. Feeds, fast navigation and interactive flows could not feel heavy on a phone. Routing and code splitting were part of keeping the application responsive as it grew.A PWA layer sits on top, so members get app-like behaviour on desktop and mobile without an install.
The Challenge
A private community platform makes performance, data isolation and access control the same problem. It has to feel immediate while enforcing the rules strictly, and the strict version is usually the slow version unless you plan for it.Building it from zero on a short timeline meant the architectural decisions had to be made early and then stuck to. Reusable components and a predictable data flow, so I never had to unpick a clever detour later on.
My Contribution
Lead frontend engineer. I designed the application architecture and implemented the platform from nothing.I used established components for the heavier UI pieces instead of rebuilding standard controls. Performance strategy and responsiveness were mine to decide.I also did the PWA integration, which is what gives the platform app behaviour while leaving it a single maintainable codebase.
