The Box App IKE – Social Video Challenge Platform
Full-stack build of The Box App social video platform: users upload videos, start challenges, and other users answer them. Three applications, an admin dashboard, a hybrid mobile app and the backend.

About the client

The Box App IKE built interactive social products around video. The idea was challenge-based creation: post a video, invite responses, run competitions on top.

Project Overview

The Box App is short-form video with a competition mechanic. Someone uploads a video and starts a challenge, other people answer it, and the platform runs the competition around that.Three components. The admin dashboard is where the platform is actually governed: users, content, challenges and competitions, plus analytics and the moderation tools. Anything hosting user-generated video needs moderation on day one, not as a later feature. The mobile app is hybrid, and it is where the product lives or dies. Creating and posting a video has to feel immediate, because it is competing with apps that have spent years making that exact moment fast. The backend carries authentication, video metadata, user interactions, challenge logic and competition workflows. Challenge logic is deceptively fiddly, because who is allowed to respond to what, and until when, has more states than it first appears.

The Challenge

Video moves through three applications, and each one has its own idea of what a half-finished upload looks like. Handling upload states, permissions and moderation without leaving a user staring at a spinner is most of the frontend difficulty.Challenge and competition mechanics added the rest. Participation tracking, engagement rules, admin oversight, and enough flexibility to keep adding social features nobody had specified yet.

My Contribution

Full-stack, across all three applications.I built the admin dashboard with Vuetify and Bootstrap: user management, content moderation, challenge configuration, analytics. The mobile app was built in Ionic, where I worked on browsing, uploads and challenge participation. The Laravel backend covers user management, challenge logic, competition workflows, and the API both clients depend on.
