About You – B2B Order & Inventory Management Tool
Frontend contribution to an internal B2B management platform at About You, designed to support wholesale customers with order placement, inventory visibility and operational workflows within a large-scale e-commerce environment.
About the client
About You is a leading European fashion e-commerce company operating complex retail and wholesale systems. In addition to its consumer-facing platforms, the company maintains internal tools to support B2B partners, logistics and supply chain operations.
Project Overview
This project involved contributing to an existing internal B2B web application used by About You to manage business customers, wholesale orders and inventory data. The platform enables B2B clients to place orders, track availability and interact with operational data in real time.
The application plays a key role in supporting wholesale workflows, providing visibility into stock levels, order status and logistics-related information. Accuracy, performance and clarity are critical, as the platform is used for operational decision-making.
From a frontend perspective, the system includes complex data-driven views, forms and tables designed to handle large volumes of information. Custom Vue.js components were used to ensure flexibility and maintain consistency across the interface.
The platform integrates closely with backend services to ensure that inventory, orders and customer data remain synchronized across systems, supporting reliable day-to-day business operations.
The Challenge
One of the main challenges was working within an established enterprise codebase, where new features and improvements needed to align with existing architectural patterns and operational requirements.
Ensuring that frontend changes remained performant and maintainable was essential, given the scale of data and the importance of reliability in B2B workflows.
My Contribution
I contributed as a frontend developer to the About You B2B platform, working primarily on the user interface and frontend logic. My responsibilities included implementing and maintaining custom Vue.js components used across data-heavy management screens.
I collaborated with backend services built in Laravel to ensure smooth data integration and reliable user interactions, particularly around order processing and inventory visibility.
Throughout the engagement, I focused on delivering clean, maintainable frontend code that aligned with enterprise standards and supported the long-term evolution of the internal platform.
