Arcual – Art Market Backoffice Redesign
Frontend contribution to the Arcual backoffice redesign, focusing on rebuilding and enhancing the user interface of an enterprise SaaS platform operating in the global art market. The work emphasized custom component development, scalability and long-term maintainability.

About the client

Arcual is an art technology company providing digital infrastructure for the primary art market. The platform enables galleries, artists and institutions to manage sales, relationships and operational workflows with transparency and control, supporting the evolving needs of the contemporary art ecosystem.

Project Overview

Arcual operates a sophisticated SaaS platform tailored to the needs of the global art market, where trust, data integrity and structured workflows are essential. A critical component of this platform is its internal backoffice system, used to manage operational and commercial processes. This project focused on contributing to the redesign of the Arcual backoffice, improving the frontend structure and user experience. The goal was to enhance usability while supporting the complex business logic required by galleries and art professionals. The redesign emphasized custom-built UI components, allowing the application to move beyond generic layouts and better reflect Arcual’s product requirements. Tailwind CSS was used to ensure visual consistency, flexibility and efficient styling across the interface. The resulting improvements supported a more scalable and maintainable frontend, enabling the product team to continue evolving the platform without accumulating unnecessary technical debt.

The Challenge

One of the main challenges was working within an existing enterprise application while introducing new frontend patterns and components. The work needed to integrate seamlessly with established workflows and business logic. Balancing design improvements with technical constraints required careful coordination and attention to component boundaries, ensuring that changes delivered real value without disrupting ongoing development.

My Contribution

I contributed as a frontend developer to the Arcual platform, focusing on the redesign and enhancement of the backoffice user interface. My work included building custom Vue.js components and refining frontend structures to improve clarity and consistency. I collaborated closely with the product and design teams to translate UX improvements into reusable frontend patterns, ensuring that the interface remained aligned with Arcual's enterprise requirements. Throughout the engagement, I focused on maintainable frontend architecture, using Vue.js and Tailwind CSS to deliver scalable UI solutions suitable for a long-term SaaS product.
